2009 Another Roadside Attraction

A new fixture in our line up, this wine has a gorgeous dense red/black color. Also notable are the beautiful aromatics. Elevated notes of vanilla, crème brulee, smoked tea and black pepper lend elegance to this deep and brooding wine. Roasted plums and cherries mingle with bittersweet chocolate and spicy notes. An hommage to its literary namesake, this wine is complex, intriguing and surprising.

2010 Kick Ranch Petite Sirah

2010 Kick Ranch Petite Sirah

A blend of 96% Petite Sirah and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is the usual powerhouse that we have always known. Fans of our Kick Ranch Petite will not be disappointed. The color of this wine is deep purple, almost black. Aromas of bacon fat and blackberry pie coexist beautifully with white pepper, burnt sugar and tar. The texture of this wine is lush, but has enough muscle to stand up to the richness. Present are mocha and sweet vanilla in cahoots with fruit flavors of huckleberries and plums, all leading to a finish of cassis, cedar and spice. We have loved this Petite since we crushed the first grape, and the love affair continues.

2010 Sainte Fumee

Here we would like to quote one of our professional tasters: “While I really loved last year's classic Sainte Fumee, this one kicks the living daylights outta that one! It has a brooding dark purple color, a nose loaded with sweet black fruits, currants, violets, bacon, roasted meats. On the palate, the wine explodes in every direction. It is incredibly dark and dense and powerful, all without being overdone. The finish lasts forever. OMG”

2010 Labor of Love

This is our second effort from the Martinez Vineyard high on Pritchard Hill, and wow, are we ever glad we landed here! Comprised of 78% Cabernet Franc, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, exclusively from this estate, this wine embodies the essence of terroir. Earthy notes of tobacco, loam and forest floor are balanced with floral characteristics of violets and orchids. Rich, ripe plums and blueberries are present in the mouth with notes of espresso and chocolate covered cherries. This well-structured wine has round, integrated tannins and will age beautifully, if you have the patience!

The Road Les Traveled II

The Road Les Traveled II

This is our second offering of this non-vintage wine. It is fat and lush with ripe plums and earthy, cedary notes. Flavors of black cherry and sassafras are forward in this plush, seductive and balanced wine. We like to think of this as the wine equivalent of comfort food and are excited to have this in our repetoire. This is a serious wine, but one you still can afford to open on a Tuesday night.

2009 The Heavyweight

Are we repeating ourselves? This wine floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee! With a name like The Heavyweight, one might expect a sucker punch, yet there is indisputable elegance to this champion. It is fragrant with lovely blue fruits, violets, crushed flowers and blackberries. The palate is highly refined with elements of Bing cherries, roses, figs and currants. The finish lingers with velvety tannins. This wine is built for the long haul.
